How does one go about legally obtaining a destructive device? Where can one legally fire say a grenade launcher without risk of destroying something that one would not wish to destroy? Just out of curiosity, can one legally carry around a destructive device with a CCW permit (not that I necessairly intend to)?

I think a guy in Idaho runs a blow 'em up business that's pretty popular.

You can get DD's the same way as you would a machinegun or SBR, a Form 4 transfer or make one on a Form 1. DD's are a little different than other NFA items. For example, a 40mm grenade launcher is a DD and the grenades themselves are also considered DD's. While you can get a grenade launcher, getting live grenades or other explosives might present a problem. You can get practice grenades that will fire but not explode.
The State of Florida does not specifically ban carrying a concealed DD with a CCW license.
