Christmas came early for me

Well I had to take a dog to Utah to sell her and while I was their I took the opportunity to look at two gun shops that happened to be near where I was dropping of the dog. I got lucky and one of them had Lee molds and other casting equipment. So I picked up a TC 230 grain .452 for my XD ( I hope it feeds them OK) and I picked up a .430 240 grain SWC for my 44, plus a Lyman 20# bottom pour pot along with a Lyman ladle. They were a little more than Midway but I like giving my money to small shops more than I do large companies.

But I put the stuff up in the closet so my wife can give it to me for Christmas, can't wait to use it all

Congrats!

However, I always found it better to go ahead and play with the toys, and let the wife pop out of the closet on Christmas morning.

:D

Well I went to Kents on Washington in N. Ogden and they had every thing I needed and then I went to Impact guns but they were not interested in talking to me. I looked at guns for quite a few minutes and wondered the store but I could not tell who worked their and the one guy that did seem to work their was more interested in talking to friends and going out side to smoke, so I wont wast my time there any more.

The old guy there at Kents was really nice though, he was very helpful.

I've shopped at both at various times. Kent's has friendly and helpful staff, a good selection of reloading components, lots of variety of ammo (some now out of production), but higher prices. During the shortage, they were selling Alliant brand powders for $30+/lb while Sportsmans Warehouse and other places were still selling them for $25. That's the only fault I've found with Kent's is they are quick to raise their prices and are usually a bit more than others.

Impact Guns has an awesome selection of firearms, an indoor range with an option to rent various firearms, reasonable prices overall, but the sales people can be hit and miss. I've had sales associates that were very good and others who I avoid after dealing with them. It's too bad they ignored you as I think they are a good business overall.

If you ever find yourself in downtown SLC, visit Gallensons. They're my favorite. Helpful and courteous staff, tons of reloading components and gear, wide variety of ammo, lots of guns including a wall-length used gun rack. They also usually have the best standard prices on firearms around.
