This was in the Annapolis Capital this evening. A rare MD'r speaking out...woohoo...way to go Julius!
Federalist Papers
Congratulations to the letter writer who attempted to educate The Capital on the Constitution by citing Federalist Paper No. 46 to explain the reason for the right to carry guns (Readers' views, Dec. 18).
Most newspaper editors don't even know of the Federalist Papers, which were written to explain the Constitution so that it would be ratified by the former Colonies.
Most editors don't understand that the Constitution's amendments tell the government what it cannot do. Yet editors and many judges try to tell us what we cannot do.
The Capital should print and explain the Federalist Papers so that, in its research, it will learn something - and so will the judges who elect to write their own laws or are too ignorant to interpret them.
