Streamlight Question

A friend suggested that a streamlight TRL-3 can be snapped onto the handgun (Glock in my case) when needed. The problem stems from the fact that the holsters i own don't accomodate the Glock whenthe light is attached.

Is this doable, or practical?

P.S., not sure which forum this belongs in so i hope to post it twice.

It doesn't exactly just snap on. There is a screw that needs to be tightened to snug it on there. You can get it pretty tight with your fingers, but you really need a coin or something similar to really securely fasten it. But it takes less than a minute to remove/install- easy peazy.

I personally don't think it's practical because in a life threatening situation I don't believe you would have time to or think about where your light is and then get it mounted and then find your target. It's worth it if you have to carry a light on your pistol to get a holster for it. I have one for HD but I don't like them on anything I have to draw cause it grabs on things and slows things down; on a fast draw with the light I find myself catching the holster a bit and it does make me fumble so I go with out, but if you practice with it and learn better than me it's a great tool to have.
