New NAA Breaktop Mini Revolver

I didn't see this mentioned on the forum yet. It looks like North American Arms is coming out with a new break action mini revolver, called the "Ranger".

Here's the link from the NAA Website...

...and here's a blog with a pic.

I want to say that I don't own any NAA revolvers (and no, I'm not selling them). They seem too small and shoot too slow for defense, and the sights and barrel are too tiny to be accurate enough to plink with.

On the flip side, they are well made and look really cool. Basically, they are good conversation pieces that fire live ammo. If I had the money, I would buy one, but I've already overspent on guns this year :(

I've always liked breaktop revolvers like the Webley and the H&R Sportsman. I'd like to see more break action revolvers manufactured. (I just wish this one wasn't so tiny).

Looks like it will be faster/easier to reload then the original....might make a nice pocket gun when something bigger isn't feasible

The .22 magnum Pug model with Big Dot sights is plenty easy to plink with and surprisingly accurate out to 7 yards. Very easy to keep center mass. It's also not hard to cock it after the draw and during the presentation, so first shot speed isn't bad. Obviously recocking for each shot will slow things down. The breaktop wuld be good at the range, but I don't see any need for it on a defensive gun of this size and caliber. You've probably either handled the threat or not and there's likely no time to load either way within the range you're likely to use this little guy.

The larger NAA revolvers are a easier to hold. I think the Black Widow and Pug are worthy of consideration for deep concealment or even EDC.

I like the sights on that Pug. Very easy to see for such a small handgun.

I want one, it can keep my .22mag/.22lr convertible company even though I have no real need for either.

And the NAA mini isn't for showing off your Annie Oakley skills, it is for challenging shooting. Plinking is more fun when it isn't easy!
And they make a good "get off me!" gun for when you can't have a gun, too.

While we're on the subject of NAA mini-revolver development, anyone know what the "ported" and "the wasp" models are? They share the same part # with the "Ranger", NAA-22M-BT, but no pictures and no hints I could find.

Also, will the Break-Top version take the holster grip I already have? I don't think it will fit the Kydex holster I had made for the .22mag model, the under-barrel section is totally different.

I would definately consider one if they come out with a Mini Master / Earl sized version and the price is the same.

I will let everyone know how it shoots, probably do a u-tube video.
Don't anticipate match grade accuracy and I bet the little revolver won't disappoint.:)

Having owned an NAA mini .22 mag, I will get one of these for sure. Guns can be fun you know...

I have an NAA mini-revolver in .22 LR -- it is an extremely well-made piece of hardware.

A Pug in .22 WMR will definitely make a nice companion... :)
