I'm in sooooo much trouble....

I've been hankering for a cool, accurate, economical to shoot (9mm) steel frame, blued steel, single action, 5", range gun (did I say cool ;) ) and though the CZ 75 SA was a serious contender, I've always been a fan of the classics and set my sights on a Browning Hi-Power

Since I've started getting their e-flier, I've been amazed at how low CDNN's prices are (you have to subscribe to their e-mail and on the best deals, you have to call them to get the price.)

Untill today, all I've seen them list has been the matte MK III model. But today their flier listed the 75th anniversary model (polished blue, checkered hardwood grips, really sweet looking). I called and found that they only had two available and at $740, no upcharge for CC and only $17 to ship to my favorite $10/transfer FFL.

Oh Man.... eyes gots some splainin' to do

Let's just say that my wife is not going to be happy....

Don't know anything about the model/gun but from the pic, looks nice..

Same here, Santa knows I've been bad (put a NIB , pure German, Sig P225n/r 9mm with Sig 3-dot night sights and 3 mags) on layaway last week..

When you take things into your own hands like that, it no longer matters what Santa knows. BTW, I need a P225/P6, for holster making purposes. Did they have any more of those, where you got that one?

Nice pick up. Did you get the one with adjustable sights or fixed? They are basically a high gloss blued BHP MKIII with this logo on the top of the slide.

LOL, I'm not rdy to rule out that Santa's vibes, good or bad, may have effects, yet.. ;)

*Not sure, didn't chk, as I was on my way to the range and didn't want any more money to burn thru my wallet.. lol

I'm sure either make, as mine says German Police something on the one side of the slide but it has the normal hammer, not the actual P6 type hammer with the little curve at the top end to squeal on its operator, to the Sig Gunny, that the gun had been dropped and hit the hammer, as the little open curve, if dropped on, shuts tight.. :uhoh: (honest, I didn't drop it).. lol

Anyway, I'm in So. CA. and won't be up to the gun shop until early next week to chk.. I would think other than the difference in P6's hammer and what the P225 has, full hammer, would fit the same holster unless they make a holster that also tells on the owner if the gun has been dropped.. :scrutiny:

No from Brownings Website.... :(

I considered getting one from CDNN too. Posted they were available last night but too many BHPs already in the stable and too many others on the list.

I think the real value of these guns is in the blueing. Reminds me of the old T series guns.

I agree "about the blue - ing look..

It's the one type (looking) gun I have yet to put into my small herd but when the day comes, I'm sure it's gonna be a full size 1911

Got to say, the_blue_look is pure heaven.. (on any gun)

Yeah there is something about a 1911 in blue... Look around for a WWI repo with the carbonia blue. They are impressive.

Yeah, I've got a gorgeous, near mint, tapered/pinned barrel 10-5 coming my way as I type. And I didn't get it at a deal of a price, just had to have it, ya know? I'll tell the wife that I bought it for her.

Colt... WWI Repo. It is discontinued at this time but you can find them for $1000 to $1200 LNIB or NIB.

I opted for the fixed sights... ($40 less). Though this will be a dedicated range gun, I've never found the need to actually adjust the sights on any other handgun I've purchased new.

The photo RS posted is straight off the Browning web sight.... there are several very nicely done photos there. And if you click on them, they load in pretty high resolution.

I didn't realize the WW I 1911 reproductions were in high gloss blue.

I don't know what Colt's secret is, but I haven't seen any other manufacturer that does blueing as nice.

I'll have the new BHP in my greedy little hands Tuesday :)

I have got to beet my wife to the mail box for the CC bill.
