Is it possible to remove the Cylinder Release Button without being a gunsmith?

Yes.
As long as you use two gunsmith screwdrivers.

You will have to file or grind a notch in one screwdriver blade with a Dremel cut-off wheel to clear the screw in the center of the left cap nut.

See this about that, about halfway down the page:

Use Blue Lock-Tight on the threads when you put it back together or it will fall apart and you will loose it in the weeds.

Oh!
Nevermind!

You should be able to remove the cylinder release after you remove the trigger group from the frame, following standard cleaning procedures outlined in the owners manual.

There should be a screw accessible from inside the bottom of the frame that holds the latch, spring, and plunger in place.

There is a screw under the Cylinder Release Button on the outside, is that it?

Yes probably. I thought it was inside the frame with the trigger group out, but maybe not.
Look at part #KE-27 in the schematic in the owners manual on page 12.
