With all due respect the the moderators, I do not feel that the thread on Hanukkah is at all off topic for THIS forum, On the rifle or reloading fora perhaps, but not here.
The lessons of the true history on Hannukah bear directly on the right to bear arms and the right of self-defence. Jewish law influenced Christian law and THAT influenced our modern Western law as well.
It is an object lesson that should be studied and propagated as widely as possible. Particularly among those Modern, liberal American Jews who support gun control.
Likewise, my question reagrding the video "Innocents Betrayed". A movie/documentary that points out the evil that comes from victom dis-armament and show how the antis are taking a moral "low" road is also quite germaine to this forum.
