Magazine troubles...

Actually troubles might be an overstatement.

This is the situation:

I have a Kahr E9 with two seven round mags. (Meaning they have six holes and one visible bullet.)

Both magazines, when inserted with seven rounds in it make the slide exceedingly hard to rack. And this isn't just me pussing out. This is me having to treat the Kahr like an M60 to make it work.

It *feels* like the magazine is overloaded, but I know for a fact that these are seven round magazines! (One I ordered from Kahr as a seven round mag, rather than an eight round, because I wanted to have two of the same mags.)

Is there a way to break in these mags? I have left them fully loaded for a day, and unleaded them for a day several times already.

The gun functions flawlessly, and the stiffness is easily overcome by just locking the slide back, inserting the mag and letting the gun chamber the first round and for magazine changes, this is obviously a non-issue, but I am tired of having to beat on my Kahr like a cheap Hog. 8(

Kahr's recommended method is as you described:
"just locking the slide back, inserting the mag and letting the gun chamber the first round and for magazine changes".
