Merry Christmas everyone!

I've been offered a Norinco SKS as a partial trade but I have absolutely no idea about SKS's and would like to get an idea of the value.

Here's the details per him:
Norinco SKS with chrome lined barrel with bayonet
30rd metal magazine
Very clean with all matching numbers
wood stock

Can anybody give me an approximate value?

If he has the original 10 round magazine I'd say $200+.

If he doesn't have the original magazine less than $120. You're going to wind up replacing the mag and maybe having to do some fitting to get it to work.

+1 on the original magazine......

Maybe up to 250+ IMO. I have one and was looking it up a few nights ago on gun broker and the arms lists..... 250 was a typical price. I think that is cheap.

250 low end with the original magazine. they seem to have leveled out round 300. plus you have the bore condition, functionalbility, etc. how well has it been cleaned, like the gas tube and pistion, op rod...?

Is it a D or M series, designed for the AK mags?

Seasoned SKS owners are always skeptical about the reliability of aftermarket mags used in typical Norincos etc.
Have you seen how many pages of the SKS, mostly Norincos and some Yugos, are always on Gunbroker?

Hard to find a Norinco SKS lower than $250 these days.

From the photo, that is a very clean looking SKS. Does that have the stamped steel trigger guard? Some Norincos have machined trigger guards.

Nope, you can tell if you look at the full resolution version of the photo.

Stock looks better than most, at least in the photo. As long as the original 10 round mag is included in the deal, looks like a good SKS if you really want one.

Looks like the Norinco SKS I bought for cheap $ several years ago was a good investment. I wish now I'd bought two.

Really a very clean SKS. Need the info about the magazines, is that a duckbill mag(has extended rear lip on mag). I'd say still a $250-$300 SKS due to it very clean looks but looks can be deceiving. It's really hard to mess up a SKS it's as durable as a AK. As long as all #'s match, w/o shooting issues, a very nice SKS! It will be hard to get more than $250 unless it's a deal that both parties really want.

As long as all #'s matchDon't worry about the numbers matching. It doesn't mean much on an SKS or most guns.

Partial trade, offer to take it for 120, work for ammo, don't agree for more than 200,$250 if you really want the deal.

+1
if he doens't have the original mag, no matter how many times he says "this mag works great..." it is another $25-50 off what you should accept it as trade.

BTW, a gun shop would pay less than 100 for it, so if he wants to walk offer to take him to the gun shop so he can get cash to pay you.

Thanks for all the info!

He does not have the original mag for it but is including 200rds of ammo. As far as trade value on it, it's being offered with a Sig SP2022 LNIB with night sights for a Springfield 1911 A1 9mm. I can buy the Sig NIB locally for $459 + tax so I'm valuing the SKS at around $250-$275. I won't be keeping and using the SKS, it'll solely be for resale.

What do you guys think? His original trade offer was for the Sig and a Stevens 311H that's got some pretty good wear on it and the finish is probably 70%, I declined that trade after seeing it's condition.

Thoughts?
