lately i've been putting together an LTR rifle and i finally got most all the parts installed. it has a VQ hammer with bolt stop and buffer. i added swivel studs and tech sights.

i can't say enough about how excellent these tech sights are. they have very precise adjustments which can be a little tricky at first. a shooter at the range came over to my table b/c he thought i was shooting an M1 carbine. he started talking about scoping his 10 22 and then i showed him this target from 25 meters.

not too bad for bulk ammo. i noticed that the smaller the target the smaller my groups were. the target above is a 1" square. the other targets i used were 3" and my groups adjusted to the size. i guess i ran about 350-400 rounds through the gun today and not one single malfunction. what a great set up to work on sight picture and trigger sqeeze.
the only thing that went sideways on me today was when i started slinging up. suddenly the impact started shifting. that's when i noticed the receiver screw was loose. i'm thinking i may have to bed the action b/c now the
screw is still tight an i can feel the action move in the stock.
all in all a fun day at the range and a fun project. i may never stop tinkering with this 10 22.
