Is there anything like these out there without the excessive (IMO) price tag? I like the idea, but I don't think it needs to cost over $100

Maybe I can work on something on my own, perhaps a nice night sight...

eBay, here I come, but I am looking for alternetives

Thanks!

jp builds quality stuff in my opinion, i have a jpoint red dot that i bought used and had mounted on a 1911 for quite a while with no complaints.

Not looking for a red dot. This is a set of BUIS, meant to back up a magnified scope. Look at the pictures. IMO, they are not worth the $120 that JP is asking for them. I do not mean that they are not expensive to make, rather that I think it could be done for less.

There's another outfit that makes something similar, but I disremember the name at the moment.

As I recall, price was on par with the JP product.

These were fairly popular among 3 gun shooters for awhile, but a lot of people have moved away from using them because they have a tendency to snag on things moving into or out of position.

That makes sense. I think I am going to get a cheap set of pistol sights and see what I can whip up on my own

why not one of those angled pic rails the three gunners use for their short range red dots but put some flip up irons on it

That is likely to cost more and have a lot more moving parts
