My hubby gave me a S&W model 629 for Christmas. I got to the range Saturday to try her out....wow! She has a 6 inch barrel---I need to find some way to carry her. AND I need to come up with a name for her. My sister "stole" the perfect name--"Dirty Harriet".

Yep, she is, Clown. I taught her to shoot about 2 years ago, and one of our favorite things to do is go to the range. My sons fuss because we won't let them go...we call it our "girly outing".

She is 40 & self-employed, too!

That's a big gun to carry and I can't begin to make a recommendation but I'll try. I'm thinking off-body might be the best bet. Large purse, or fanny pack.

As for a name, try "redneck" names like Bubba or mythical gods like Thor or Mars. :)

Hey-Hey-Hey hawk 0484, you ought to be really
good to your hubby. :) My wifey would never dare to
purchase a firearm for me; cuz she don't know which
end of a gun the bullet comes out of. :uhoh:

She constantly hears about SIG's, Smith's, Glock's,
Colt's, H&K's, Walther's, etc. but does not have a clue
as to which I like best. :rolleyes: Luckily, my friends
here at THR could well inform her.;)

Speaking of S&W 629's, I have a 5" barrel "Classic"
model; and its probably one of the BEST new weapons
I have purchased recently? :neener:

I take the magnum cases, and download to .44 Special
target ammo; which makes it feel like a big .38 Special.
I enjoy shooting "BIG BERTHA" so much, it makes
every trip to the range with me. Enjoy`
