Yeah, but it's not a full sized 1911. It's only about 85%. It's more or less a replica that looks like a 1911.

They are both still scaled down guns from what I have read.

Browning is not making them, Browning makes nothing.
The two .22 pistols, both about 85% the size of a regular 1911, are being built in the same plant that does the Buckmarks for Browning.

Alloy frames & slides.

Correct browning does not make any guns. LOL :)

Whats the point of an anniversary 1911 in 22 caliber??!!

1911s started as 45s not 22s. I dont think the first Ace pistols came out until the early 30s.

This whole thing is just a big snafu.

If John Browning were alive today, I think he'd be rolling his eyes...

I agree. There are plenty of great .22's on the market. Even though I am new to 1911's, I know that the .45acp is a good percentage of what makes the 1911 so special.

It does seem strange.

I was at a shop when the Browning rep brought one by. I got to shoot it. Neat little camp gun. They're about the same size as the old Llama 22 and the weight is just right. 10 round mag.

Was the grip disconnect real or just cosmetic?

Anyone know how mechanically similar they will be to the real thing?

Price? Magazine price? # of mags in box?
