Is there a reasonably priced 22 LR semi auto that comes with peep /aperture sights from the factory or would I be better off with installing peep on my own. I'm thinking a Ruger 10/22 or a Marlin 795.
I'd prefer not the AR style 22, but if you know of a reliable inexpensive option I may consider it.
Mostly I'm looking for something to plink with and I would like to attend Appleseed with it.

look no further than the excellent tech sights. i installed them on my LTR 10/22 and they are great. i can't think of any manufacturer that does factory peeps that you would want to use for appleseed.
here is a 25 meter target (from the bench)

I just ordered a third set of tech-sights for a third 10/22, as well as the one on my SKS and one soon going on a mini-14.
I wouldn't have bought a third 10/22 except that I have a bin of mags for it and knew I could mount the Tech-Sights.
There's nothing wrong with the Marlin 795 or 60, get a plinker you actually enjoy shooting first, if it is a replica of a centerfire gun that's a bonus.
