My intent is to put this on my .270 Win, for dual use - Long range target practice and occasional hunting. Does anyone have any experience with this scope and or have any better recommendations?
I can buy one now for $589 and still get the $75 rebate, so it seems like a good deal.
Thank you.

Wow, there must be some interest with 80 views, but still no replies!
While this is interesting, it's not quite the response I was hoping for.
I'm also considering the Leupold VX III CDS, maybe someone will chime in on these.

I have been looking at the SIII for 16x42mm for a target/varmint rifle. Everything I have read has been positive, including the review on snipercentral about the Sightron 10x42mm. Only negative that I have read is that the windage/elevation knobs are really easy to rotate and there might be some concern about them rotating accidentally in your drag bag/rifle case.
MidwayUSA has some of there SIIs on sale...you might check there if you haven't to see if their price is a few dollars less.

Well, Midway had the Sightron on sale and had one left so I decided to jump on it. I guess I'll just have to see how it does.
I'm just hoping that all the silence on this is not a case of " If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all."
FWIW I have read nothing but good reviews on the net so far.
