I need a gun safe, and I'm seriously considering one sold by Gallyans.
I think they delivery, but do they just drop it off at the curb and go?

Mike,
If you are purchasing at the Galyans in Fairlakes. I know the guy who does it. I believe there is an additional fee for this. Check with the store. He is able to move most safe's by himself and the purchaser. The biggest issue is making sure you can make all the corners, doorways and stairs on the way to your location to keep the safe. He moved a safe of mine for 200.00 from one house to the other.
He name is not in my head, but its written down at home. He moves the safe using a horse trailer. And he has all the equipment to do it right, not 3-4 guys manhandling it.
Good luck
John
Editied to add, his name is Steve and runs Steve's Safe's. It should be in the phone book.

Wait one minute...
Steve's Safes?
Steve Tartalino?
Tall, thin guy with a big shock of black hair?
He'll, if he's the one contracting Gallyan's safes, I'll just buy straight from him and save the middle man fee.
I've known Steve for years. I thought he only handled the really high end stuff that I can't afford right now. :)

Mike, when I worked for Galyan's, we used to to deliver. Take three or four guys and deliver it right where the customer was pointing. Of course, that was 12-13 years ago.
Do not know if we charged for it. As well, do not know current policy. May have changed as store expanded.

I just finished doing seasonal work for Galyans (may my idiot manager rot in Kali). Delivery is $50 for safes, but only within a certain distance. They will not cross a threshold with it. Basically, they'll drop it off in your garage, front door, or back door and thats it. We usually recommended a local delivery company if the customer wanted help getting it inside the house.
Helping you load the safe into your pickup is free.
