New shooter here--I was just about to place an order for one of Georgia Arms's cans of remanufactured .38 ammo only to find that shipping for the West Coast is almost twice what it costs for the East and that makes it a lot less attractive price wise. I could go to a Walmart but it'd be a somewhat long drive and there is approximately a 10% sales tax so I'd rather not go local. Anyone know a better option for .38spl ammo for those of us out west?

Reloading empty brass is NOT an option for me, unfortunately (although saving my spent brass and selling it is--tips welcome on how to deal with that too).

Thanks guys!

Both Ableammo.com and Budsgunshop.com have a wide selection, good prices, are reliable, and have decent shipping rates to the west coast. Buds seems to be slightly cheaper for the cheap ammo, but Ableammo has a slightly wider selection and give discounts if you buy in bulk. I would check them out and see if they have what you're looking for. They are both cheaper than any non-sale price 38 special ammo I have seen where I am in NV.

Even if you are just punching paper, I would NOT buy the typical UMC 130gr FMJ that is cheap cheap cheap.

That is absolutely some of the worst ammo I have ever run through a wheel gun.
