I have recently acquired a new Ruger LCR in .357. I love the gun for its compact size, light weight, great trigger and that it can use the .357 power.

I also have a Glock 26 9MM, which I have had for many years. I love that gun for its 10 rounds capacity and more with different magazines. And it is so easy to shoot. Love that one too.

Do you think it would be the best of both worlds to carry a Glock 27 in .40 with its additional power yet only losing 1 round capacity to the 26?

How would the power of the .40 Glock compare with the .357 Ruger? (I would still keep the other guns, but thought this might be the best combination).

(I also have other revolvers, a Smith 681 and a Ruger SP101, both excellent, so I am not against or for revolvers or semi-autos. I like them both).

Thanks for your thoughts.

the .40 will have slightly more penetration since is shoots slightly heavier bullets. The .357 will have more power though since it has more speed. i would suggest the .357. With a revolver you will never have to worry about failure to fires happening and then having to pull the slide back after brandishing a weapon and you will never have to worry about jams.

in such a short barrel as the lcr i would recommend ammo such as buffalo bore short barrel 125 grain or double tap 125 grain. both are going to make your hand hurt a lot, but hopefully you won't ever need to use them.

as for the issue of capacity, if you need to shoot more than 5 times you should really:

A) RUN AWAY

B) Go to the range and practice hitting the target
