Kimber has made what is sure to be a major player in the concealable duty caliber market.

This is the Solo Carry. MSRP with one magazine is $775. Additional (6 round) magazines are $25, with 8 round magazines eventually becoming available that extend beyond the grip. The gun is very smooth, with no sharp edges. The trigger is smooth as well (that's the word that both John and I used.). It has a seven pound single action trigger that feels like a very smooth double action trigger, if that makes sense. We both thought it was a DAO pistol. John says it's "the longest single action trigger pull I've ever encountered, with a smooth trigger pull and crisp let off.".

The safety feels normal to me (I prefer 1911s so it's natural), but the trigger pull is so long John would be comfortable carrying it with the safety off.

Overall a very interesting offering.

You mean its not DAO?

Nope. Single action. :)

The slide is significantly harder to rack than the super-small 1911s, both because of an extremely stiff recoil spring, and because the slide is smooth, and has little grasping space.

That second pic looks like the old Simmerling 45 manual oeprated handgun.
