I teach a women's self defense course (non-firearms). I have decided to provide a key chain type OC dispenser to each participant. I'm not a strong supporter of OC (or any other spray) for self defense, but if I do provide a product, I would like to think it is one of the best available. I have been watching the ebay sales, but frankly I know nothing of brand names, etc. I know about SHU, but each manufacurer seems to say their has the most effective OC with the highest SHU. Can anyone recommend a particular brand that seems to have a good reputation within the industry? Thanks for your assistance.
Jerry

You can't go wrong with Fox. See http://www.defensedevices.com
My family carries the 2 oz, 5.3 million SHU sprays, and we gave keychain units for Christmas.

Ditto on Fox... looks and smells like Dave's Ultimate Insanity sauce when it comes out.
IMO it's a good idea to get two identical units, one for practice and one for carry. In practice, you can see how it aims, how far the stream shoots, etc.

My keychain unit went through the washer a while back. While removing the canister from the keychain holder I had an ND. I only took a small shot to the face, wasn't pleasant. I sure wouldn't want to take a full blast.
I have seen the recomendation to try whatever you carry on yourself so you know what to expect. It's affectiveness on assailant as well as impact on you should some blow back in your face. I haven't the nerve so far to try it full force.
