Bloomberg quote 1/24/11:
"No rational person thinks you should be able to sell a rifle that is advertised as being able to bring down a commercial airliner. Nobody thinks we should be selling armor piercing bullets. You don’t need that if you are going out and hunting deer or elk."

Not really anything new here, and nothing at this point to get "active" about, which is the point of Activism.

Will leave this in the discussion area until after the State of the Union speech. Will see if any action is called for after that.

That Bloomberg is anti gun isn't news, and he's not really open to any discussion about it.

How disconcerting to find out that I am irrational.

Bloomberg is the perfect example of why term limits should be strictly adhered to.

I advocate more Bloomberg control; it is essential to our safety.

What else is new? Bloomberg is an obvious narcissist and an idiot to boot. That pesky snow removal problem in NYC that cost some people their very lives? Pfffft, that's child play. The real issue is guns. Give me a break. But then again, if New Yorkers want him, they can keep him. The Chicagoans sure gave Richard Daley his due.

Is Bloomberg referring to the 50 caliper bolt action guns as the ones that are advertised to be able to bring down aircraft and that are, in his view, not appriopriate for deer and elk hunting?

An FBI representative stated on MSNBC after Arizona that weapons that can be shot from 1/2 mile away are common now and defending politians, including Obama, is near impossible.

The recent calls for more gun control from the usual suspects has been met with deafening silence - from politicos and We The People alike. The more Bloomberg squawks, the more out of touch he sounds.

I know this is blatantly obvious, but its been that way since about 1906. A good portion of the calibers in the .30 cal range can shoot out to 1000yds pretty well. A half mile is only 880yds.
