Last night at about 10:30, some jackass decided to sit out in front of a neighbor's house and honk their horn so his girlfriend would come out. At first he honked in short little honks, so it wasn't that annoying. After doing that occasionally for about 10 minutes, he switched to laying on the horn repeatedly. I was getting irritated until he managed to wake up my one year old and my pregnant wife. At this point I decided to go ask him to stop.
I got dressed and walked outside where he was sitting in his truck. He was obviously drunk, but I mustered all the patience and politeness I could and asked him to stop because he just woke up my entire family. He told me in no uncertain terms that I should return to my domicile and avoid a beating. I told him that I would be calling the police when I got back to the house, and started to walk off. He opened the door to get out, and I then decided that my personal safety was now in jeapordy. I pulled the Surefire L4 out of my pocket and turned around to find him merely 3 feet behind me. I flashed the light right in his eyes. I think the effect may have been increased by his alcohol intake, but when he took the beam in his face, he completely froze. I prepared to defend myself, but when he finally pulled his hands off his face, he decided I wasn't going to be an easy target and returned to his truck.
I waited on my front porch until he finally drove off (without honking any more), and then called to report him for drunk driving. :D
Before anyone says it, I did have a gun and karambit on me. Oh yeah, I was stone sober, too.

Hey TechBrute, sorry to go off topic, how do you like that bag? Do you carry it everywhere, everyday? Or just for specific purposes? I like them but cannot get past the "man purse" thing. If I carried a camera or tools in it it would be one thing, but my purpose would duplicate a purse.... or diaper bag:uhoh:
Back on topic, I like the knife but have seen the MSRP is around 250 ish. What is the real world price?
I know what you mean about lazy mothers honking and never going to the door. I have the same problem acrost the street, thou not as annoying as yours.

I carry it everywhere, every day, except when I have to wear a suit (then I switch to a Halliburton Zero). I was a little hesitant about the man-purse thing, at first, but it actually rides best when directly behind you so it doesn't look too purse-like. Several of the people at work asked about it when I first got it, and a couple of the guys picked one up, too. I like the fact I can have all my crapola with me, but not have all my pockets filled up. I still carry the immediate response stuff like the guns, knives, and flashlights directly on me, but the PDA, notepad, USB thumbdrive, pens, checkbook, water bottle, etc. rides in the Fatboy. It has many nice features that I really like, including a compression strap so you can cinch it down when not loaded out.
I got the karambit from Tadgear (http://www.tadgear.com). Good service, good prices. It was $200 there which was the cheapest I could find it during a brief search. Heck, a used one on eBay went for more than what TG had them for while I was looking.

Yeah, I want to know where you got the bag too. I just got one of those small butt-packs we had in Vietnam (New! From "Cheaper than Dirt"), but it's OD Green and a little bigger than yours. I keep RBCD Ammunition in it.
Also, about that "man purse" thing. In South America, a nice cow-hide bag is considered quite "manly". Some even have an attachment device that comes out and hooks to your wrist. I know a South American doctor here in Louisville who always carries one.

Yeah, I want to know where you got the bag too. My original intent was to get it from Tadgear (http://www.tadgear.com), but they were out when I call to place my order. That weekend I ran across Danny Crow of Crows Tactical Outfitters (http://www.crowstacticaloutfitters.com) at a gunshow. He had them and was also the only one discounting them I had found. The bag is typically $60 plus shipping, but he had them for $55 out the door.
Dude, Techbrute...you need a Fisher Space Pen and a Rite-in-the-Rain tactical all-weather notebook Then I'd never hear the end of it... :D. Actually I do have a space pen and several RITR sniper logs that I use for my precision shooting. I just haven't picked up any for my Tactical Man Bag (man=purse.)

All you guys out there need to learn to embrace your inner metrotactical.
Manpurses are handy if you like to have all your gear nearby but need to put it on and take it off because of whatever circumstance.

Techbrute,
Is that a Fatboy??? I have been thinking about getting one but how do you carry it on the right side (my strong side) with a holster at 4:00???
Is it reversible to carry on the left side?

TG, it's a Fatboy. The way the straps are configured, it carries best on the right side, pushed around behind you. It doesn't interfere with the holster at 4, but it adds some weight if you wear a heavy coat, as well. It can be worn on the left in a pinch, but is most comfortable on the right/rear.

I just got mine in the mail the other day and I love it. I also got a thermite and a m-1 to see what I like best, all in tactical kacki. I also was hesitant about blocking the inside the waistband holster and with my body shape, the way I weighted it down, or whatever it did. I find If I wear it on the right it rides at about 4 o'clock with the way the straps are. But if I wear it on the left it rides right at nine which works for me. I got mine from optactical.com just becuase the sales office was going to be away until the 5th of January and I wanted it sooner. I think I will carry it everyday with everything in it except the gun and reload. I have kind op special circumstances as I live where I work (park ranger) so when I am out at the park I don't bring my wallet or anything anyway so I can just leave it loaded. Then I will use the Thermite when I am walking around the park with supplies to check people in to the campsite, first aid stuff, rubber gloves, a seperate flashlite, and all the other junk. So each bag has a specific mission although I haven't found one for the m-1 yet. I thought I could get by with just that but it will not fit a wallet, checkbook, flashlight, pepper spray and the few other things I carry all the time. Maybee I will have to try one of there bigger ones. I will have to see if I al always taking the man purse off or not, if I do I will switch to a bigger belt one or maybe a seperate thermite for non work carry. They are constructed rather well for everyday where, not quite up to the standards for feild wear as they are not consistantly double stiched etc. but they are very sturdy.

Yeah Skunk I've already been there today..surfing all morning in fact. Thanks for helping spend my money;)
By the way, did you ever get a Safepacker holster from The Wilderness? If so, how'd you like it?

It's convenient for those gun on/gun off days. HAVING to wear it sucks though if you have other options. I don't like bags because I tend to get paranoid about leaving things behind.
Some bouncer wanted to search me because my P7M8 was in the shop and I had no Beretta concealment holster at the time, and all I had was the Beretta in the Safepacker and the car was parked blocks away. He didn't care search anyone else except for me since I had the bag.
My friends were like, 'do you have a gun in there??'
