I remember some of the prominent outdoor magazines such as Outdoor Life, Men's Journal and a couple of others expressed concern over the re-legalization of CCW in National Parks, complaining of course that this would lead to a rise in poaching and crime.
My fingers are itching to write them all a "see, we told you so, nothing bad has happened" letter, but I wanted to run it by you folks - have any of you caught wind of any crimes or poaching incidents committed by CCW holders exercising that newly re-won freedom to carry? I've looked but been unable to find anything.

I suspect that all the national parks are so crowded with people that any shooting would cause an immediate swat-like response.

I hadn't heard that those magazines felt that way. I can't think of a better way to lose readers. Do they not realize how many subscribers are CCW holders?

I think you would need specifics about what magazine and which issue where some editorial position was taken before any effort would be appropriate. Rubbing the wrong nose in the wrong poo would be an awful error.

Poachers and other assorted criminals don't care what the law says. None of 'em would take the time and expense to get a legal CCW permit either.
Mind you, suggesting there'd be an increase in crime because of legalized CCW, anywhere, is what the likes of the Brady Bunch advocate.

Before writing an accusatory letter, why not make your point in a non-angry letter to the editorial staff and suggest they write a followup article on the topic?

Sometimes people are wrong and given the opportunity will make it right.
