Yep, but mostly windshield time driving to and scouting out 28,000 acres of public land near Matador TX. Pretty country and lots of cover. But.. it looked like some real tough walking for quailie birds that could create "unfair chase" for men and dogs! Chaz and I jumped one covey in what little actual walking that we did. Saw a couple of closeup whitetails from one of many interior roads plus three fat mulie does just before sundown. :)

P.S. Good for George W. ' Glad he enjoys our sport. God only knows how much he probably needs some time to relax.

Went out today to Quail hunt but only got 4 quail. Doesnt matter though, got 27 doves, 4 quail, 2 cottontails and one jackrabbit. Was a blast. Our take for the day.

I went out, had to try out all the new stuff Santa brought me. Saw an awfull lot of...........Trees.

I'm also glad our President went out, God Bless That Man.

Went and killed a doe. I just need a couple more to fill the freezer for the year. :D
The rut is really starting to move the deer in central Alabama. Next couple of weeks will probably produce some nice bucks. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to take a nice one this year. Last year, I only shot one buck, but it was a nice 4-5 yr old 8 point.
So far this year, I've taken 6 doe & seen several nice bucks, but there is an 8 point outside ears rule at the place I hunt.
