I like Taurus and trust taurus but I don't know much about Taurus Steel. I have a Taurus model 450. I'm curious if that little gun can handle hot 45 LC loads. Any information is appreciated.

I have a 4" Tracker in 45 colt and altough the Manual states that it should not be shot with anything greater than IIRC 900 fps 250 gr loads. I think it would be like a J frame, because the locking cuts are between the cylinders and as long as it fits with in the cylinder, and not a huge +p load it should be alright. I feel that a 255 gr LSWC moving at 900 to 1000 fps should do most everything in the lower 48, anything more is just flame out of the ports:D

I don't feel it would be wise to fire hot loaded .45 Colt rounds out of a little 28 oz revolver. Not to mention trying to hold on to it while firing heavy loads.

I would recommend the very hot .45 Colt loads be fired only in a Raging Bull. (Or download the .454 Casull.)

they say "Ruger and Contender ONLY"
I would take that to mean Ruger and Contender only
BUT... I can tell you that I have a Ruger Bisley in 45 Colt that is way fun to shoot and not punishing, even with the heavy loads, so...
looks like another "must have" gun is in your future :)
