I really like the saiga .308 but I would like it already converted with a pistol grip, is there any manufacturer that sells them already converted?

There are some commercial conversions you can buy. I wanna say Red Jacket?

I've converted 2 of these myself and its really very very easy to come out with a product you wouldn't be able to tell from a professional conversion.

I think I will just try the conversion LOL

Head on over to the Saiga 12 forum (http://forum.saiga-12.com/) and check out their resources. They have information on all the Saiga rifles and shotguns. I STRONGLY recommend doing business with Dinzag Arms (www.dinzagarms.com) for your parts. Dinzag is a great guy and sells exactly what you need at a good price. You'll want to buy the trigger group from him, as he modifies them to work properly with Saigas, and the Saiga .308 won't accept an unmodified AK fire control group. Go with the Arsenal two-stage model. The Tapco G2 bumpfires too easily, to the point of being uncontrollable when doing light trigger pulls. That was with a Saiga .223. I'd hate to think what it'd do with a .308.

Conversion isn't that bad. I converted my Saiga .223 in 5 hours in my garage. The hardest part is the bolt hold open. The trick is to use 2 hooks to manipulate the BHO spring while reinserting the hammer pin. The first one is to hold the pin down, and the second one is to manipulate it over the head of the oncoming hammer pin.

Depending on where you live, you could find someone to help you.

I've got folks over all the time that use the shop for conversions.

Converting the .308 Saiga and the Saiga shotguns is even easier than doing the military-calibered Saigas.

My advice would be to toss the Bolt Hold Open and spring, original AK's didn't come with em, and they don't hold the bolt open that far anyways. There are videos one is the vimeo video to help learn about conversions.

Do everything WardenWolf suggested and add www.carolinashootingsports.com to your list.

Dinzag has great bullet guides and some other parts and CSS has "kits" with everything else you need for terrific prices.

+1 on CSS. Great customer service!

+2 on CSS and add DPH Arms to the list. Take MAA off for having horrible service!

Good luck on the build. :)

Get the Saiga308v.21 ('converted' to correct trigger configuration, wooden thumbhole stock, very sexy).
