Took me a year to make 100 posts

I read every day, and enjoy. It's just that I seldom think my commentary will add to the package. And to stay on topic, wife got a Beretta 686 20 gauge for Christmas.
Happy New Year!

Most of the time, I enjoy reading informative threads and with thousands of knowledgable THR members, I also think my comments would be redundant or irrelevant to what's been said. So, I usually stay on the sidelines. Besides, I'm busy with other things when online. :D
And that is one sweet 686's.
PS: I'm right up the 100 mark as well, didn't even notice it, not until you mentioned it.
Happy 04.. :)

I'm in the same boat. Signed up the first day the board was officially open. I'm just now closing in on 100 and there are a goodly number people with thousands of posts. Damn! I guess I've been lazy, huh?

Unfortunately I rarely feel that I can make a good contribution, and my postcount reflects that. :(

I've been amazed by the post counts here at THR.
Over at TFL, it was a big deal when someone hit 10,000 posts. TFL was up for around four years, and only five folks topped the 10,000 mark. Tamara got close but came up a tad short. I had over 1,000 and thought I was putting in a pretty fair amount of screen time.
Here, however, there are already six folks with post counts over 5,000 and fifteen folks with post counts over 3,000. At that rate, in four years, some will be topping 20,000 posts, and quite a few will have over 10,000. If Mike Irwin keeps his current pace, he'll be close to 30,000 posts. That's a LOT of screen time.

I don't feel so bad now that I know I'm not the only one who seldom posts

It's not the quantity.....it's the quality. :D

I saw one guy the other day that registered in Dec 2002 and only had 8 posts.
My post count is higher because I am a clynical insomniac. :p
Some folks in the upper 100 or so of post counts seem to be fixated on posting three word responses. :D

"My post count is higher because I am a clynical insomniac."
Now you know why I get so much screen time. I don't sleep a lot.
I also have a job that allows me a lot of screen time between tasks.

Looks like WeThree and Rottweiler got me beat.
Threads like this will artificially inflate our post counts. :D

Some people (CR Sam comes to mind) can say more in three words then I can in 100...

There are times when I would gratefully reduce my post count!
Think twice, proof read thrice, post once!

Well, whadayaknow.. This post is my #100 also...
I will often begin a reply, and then cancel it..
Better to be quiet and be assumed a moron, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. (or something like that..)
I'm here every day though.. 1911Forum also..
Happy New Year all!!

You know, I just figured out how I'm able to post that many messages...
It might have a lot to do with the bigazzed mug of espresso I'm drinking right now...
Most wimps drink espresso in 4 ounce portions.
I drink mine from a full 20 ounce mug.
WHO WANTS TO RACE AROUND THE WORLD AT THE EQUATOR?? HUH? I'LL TAKE YA!
Ohh. Mug's empty. Time for more.

Threads like this will artificially inflate our post counts.
Sure seems like a free pass to get an extra post or two for us low-post-count lurkers. Hmm, is it unethical to post just for the sake of post-count-inflation? :uhoh: Or is posting just for the sake of posting, sort of like shooting just for the sake of shooting - good practice anytime you can legitimately work it in?

You know, you're only guilty of posting count inflation if you CARE what your post count is.
If you don't care (like me), and you post just because you want to listen to the keys on your keyboard go clickclack (like me), then the only thing you're guilty of is not having a life (like me). :D

1 post, 100 posts or 10,000 posts, it's not about the post total, it's about the comraderie ;) :D

I made 100 a day before my 1 year mark. Hard to believe it's been that long.
