I just recently purchased a Savage 10FP in .308 with 20" barrel. I want to replace the stock and think I have narrowed it down to a B&C Medalist or Stockade Tactical. I would still consider a B&C duramaxx as well. Any opinions as to which is better and why? Anyone shot both? I would probably be leaning toward the Medalist but Im not a huge fan of that forearm.
Thanks.

I have the Medalist and owned a Duramaxx in the past...the Duramaxx is inexpensive, but it's not nearly as strong as the Medalist.

Kevin Rayhill makes some nice stocks. If you want a Stockade stock, you best be placing your order since it's like a 16 week wait...unless you opt to pay Kevin an additional $100 to expedite the stock.

My Medalist stock has been fitted by CDI for the CDI mag system.

For looks, I don't like the forearm as well, but function first for me...it's useful when using bags.

I own a medalist stock, got mine at Xmas. No complaints and the finish and fit were good. The action dropped right in and I'm happy with it.

My only complaint was ordering. I bought from one of their retailers who told me it was a 2 week wait, turned out to be 6. Had I gone to Midway in the beginning I could have had the stock in 3 days.

The Medalist is a great stock for the money:) I'm running the same 20" 10FP, as your asking about, and had to buy an adapter for flat bottom stocks to keep my bipod from twisting off center. Like my HS stock better, but its another $100 or more.

Nice looking gun JD. Thanks for the replies. I ended up ordering the Stockade from Kevn Rayhill. Now I just hurry up and wait. I am very excited about it's arrival though.

You will be very happy with your stock. Kevin make an excellent product. I have seen his shop and he built me a complete rifle a couple of years ago as he is in my hometown. I have the tactical stock and it works very well.
