Who here as hex screws on their Sigs? Where can I find them? How much do they typically run? What are the advantages and disadvantages of having them versus not having them? I'm considering putting them on my Sig. Thanks in advance.

I never liked hex screws personally. I don't like the looks and I don't like the fact that I can't tighten them with a regular screwdriver. Such as............. the one on my Swiss army knife!!! LoL

I don't use the hex screws myself on any of my SIG's.
I use the standard screws, with a tiny drop of blue
"Loc-tite". Guess you could say, I like that "TACTICAL
LOOK"?

I use the hex screws on all my SIGs. The stock screws seem a bit soft and easy to "booger-up". I got mine from TJ's. They are very hard stainless and come black, matte or polished. $10 bucks a set. Really nice quality.

I've got Hogue's and TJ's: TJ's are the better of the two fit and finish wise.

I agree with Fed168. I've got the TJ's screws on both of my SIGs. I prefer the look of the hex head over the slotted screws. I've never had a problem with the hex screws working loose.

Get the TJ's over the Hogues. I twisted the head off a Hogue SIG screw one time while tightening my grips. Always fun to remove a headless grip screw from your frame. Never had a bit of trouble with the TJ's. If you're looking for a stainless finish I believe the Hogue's are plated, while the TJ's are true stainless steel.

I have the hex TJ's on my SIGs and a couple of other guns. I've never had any of them loosen up but I also always use LocTite Blue to install them. Loosening is not really a factor of slotted v. hex head design anyway.
I like the looks of hex heads. You don't have to index them and there's no chance of the tool slipping and damaging the grip. Also, like chuckles, I think the slotted SIG screws are unusually easy to "booger-up." Especially if you use the wrong size screwdriver on them. Since the TJ's come with the appropriate Allen wrench, and I've put them on several guns, I've always got a few wrenches laying around somewhere. I think there's at least one in every range box/bag I own so I could tighten any screws that did loosen up.
Mine came from Brownell's.
