Yesterday, a number of officers and general members of the Connecticut Citizens Defense League www.ccdl.us gave testimony in the Legislative Office Building at the State Capitol in Hartford to the Public Safety Committee regarding a number of gun-related laws. It was great to be with such a motivated and knowledgeable group of people and an honor to join them in making our voices heard. Great job, everyone! Let's do it again!

Thanks for the KUDOS and a big KUDOS to you as well. The way this state operates, I am sure that we will all do this again and unfortunatley it will probably be in the very NEAR future.

A bunch of us went back there this week to testify against a bill to place the Board of Firearm Permit Examiners (an independent civilian review board which decides cases where citizens have had their rights infringed by law enforcement agencies denying, revoking or arbitrarily delaying carry permits) under the control of the Department of Public Safety (one of the law enforcement agencies which routinely infringes these rights). They are becoming familiar with our faces and have come to understand that we are not going away.

We will be back to the LOB again to voice our opposition to bad stuff like mag bans, and to show our support for good proposals like reciprocity, renewal-by-mail, etc.
