I was just curious if anyone has built an mp5 or an mp5 clone. I have done some looking around and there are a few places to get parts. I have checked out HKParts.net and they seem to have some good stuff. Just curious about anyone's experience. Please let me know. Thanks!

Yes. It's not like building an AR or AK. If you start from a flat you will need a bending jig and a welder.

Very true, that's not a deal...it's throwing money away. A decent TIG welder is a good bit north of $1000 new, and usually used as well. Now, knowing how to use one is another question.

good to know. I probably would not be doing my own welding. This is not really the project to learn on. I was just curious how involved this project was. I have just started looking into it and I was expecting it to be similar to my AR-15 builds. It may have to be shelved for a while. Thanks!

If you want to build one in the future and have a shot at a parts kit now, buy it. I don't expect them to go down in price.
