The Shawnee County Hunter Education Instructors Association will be hosting the Kaw Valley Quail Unlimited Youth Shoot on Saturday April 23rd from 10-2 pm. The event will be held at Shawnee County State Lake North of Topeka, KS. Cost will be $10 for youth. Kids will receive a hat lunch is provided. Kids can shoot skeet, archery, and pellet rifles. All guns, bows, ammo will be provided. With one youth taking home a new shotgun.

I guess I should make a slight change. Since Quail Unlimited is no longer around since its head office had its hand in the cookie jar. It is not the Quail Unlimited youth shoot but the Quail and Upland Wildlife Federation INC. Sorry for being used to the old name.

Well the event went off without a hitch today. The kids had the opportunity to shoot skeet, pellet rifles, archery, talk with trappers, and a fishing pole casting challenge. Quail and upland wildlife federation gave away a new shotgun to one lucky young man age 8 or 9. Three fishin poles were given away. Shawnee county hunter education was presented with a check for $1,500 dollars. Thanks to all that came out.
