Saw a Bersa Thunder 380 at the shop today and it was sans key lock. If anyone has one of these, are they better, worse, or indifferent than the "lock" versions? Anyone know when they stopped making the version without the F/S lock?

The lock was stopped around 2003 I believe Their no real difference .Most of us turn to fire and toss key in box. To never use again. Their no reports of lock causing any problems. When I bought my first one I was concerned about lock Now I don't even think about it I have 3 thunders now .
Come visit us at http://bersachat.com and ask the Owners f the 380 if lock ever been a problem

Mine has the lock, which I tried out once just to see if it worked. I then never used it again, but carried the gun regularly for almost a year. It's a great shooter; I doubt the lock makes any difference.

Not the same pistol of course, but my Bersa UC9 has the lock. It really locks the pistol up tight, if you were planning to use it, that is. I've never engaged it since and carry this model nearly daily.

I absolutely trust this pistol to pull through for me if the balloons ever were to go up.

Lock isn't a problem on mine. It's one of the few locks I've ever even used, too.

Guess both of my Thunder .380's are old. Neither had the lock. I thought that was a new feature.
