Is there anywhere online I can purchase a Stoeger Cougar 9mm? There isn't any locally and I am having a hell of a time finding one via the net. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I've always had good luck with Gun Broker. Just make sure you're buying from a reputable dealer.

I've been looking at Stoeger Cougars at Academy Sports and went on GunBroker today. They have some on GB but NO real deals, once you add shipping and FFL dealer application paper work your going add close to a $100 to the price and most start out at $399. Academy has(9mm/.40cal) once in a while for $379 but normal price is $399 but you get 4 High capacity mags (I believe 15 rounds which is a deal maker in itself) and a carrying case not high quality but much better than just a box. You're going to have to go through the FFL paper work and some other stores will just not do it online.

Is there a Bass Pro nearby? That's where I got mine.

I bought my Stoeger Cougar 8000 F from Bass Pro Shop locally. When I bought my 8045 Bass Pro was out of them but I got a local gun shop to order it from one of their suppliers and had the gun in hand in three days. Cabelas sells the Stoeger Cougar 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 ACP. They list a number on their online listing for the gun, 1-888-474-4867 to call for info on how to purchase the gun.

Just got back form Bass Pro Shop after traveling 80 miles. I latched onto a Stoeger Cougar 8000 for $429 OTD before taxes. It was the last one they had. Seems like they can't keep them in stock very long, at least going by what they say. But I can believe it because this was a SOB to find.

If this firearm fires half as good as it looks, fits in my hand, and how tight the action is I will be ecstatic. :D

Anyhow, many thanks to the many great suggestions and advice put out there. They are very much appreciated. ;) This forum is great!

Once I and gun hit the range I hope to give a follow up report. Once again, many thanks!

$429 OTD before taxes
You got OTD BEFORE taxes? You're my hero, Ferris!
You might also try your LGS. I saw one at a shop in Kirkland, WA for a very reasonable price, and the owner let me paw it for some time even though I told him I was out of state and wouldn't be purchasing.

If you are not in a rush, you may monitor GB for awhile. Because I got mine there recently for $295, brand new 40 S&W. Plus 35 for SH. However you may also want to check you local dealers since they may give you a good deal. We have a dealer here who will give you a year membership at their range if you purchase a gun from them. So that at least $100 value. So if the difference is not that substantial between the online seller and your local dealer you may be better off supporting your local dealer.

Nice guns, especially for the price. Edges are kind of sharp though. I might have mine dehorned or melted.

Sportsman's Warehouse in Tucson has them from time to time. At least they did a couple of weeks ago. I think the price was in the high $300's.
