Well today I went to the range with a good friend of mine and we got some great tactical training in. Being the he is a LEO, I got to try out his new G22 (Gen 4). I was shooting my G19 (Gen 3) and there is a major difference between the two. I would have to say that I favor the Gen 4 over the Gen 3 from this training session. The reasons for this would be the recoil, sights, frame.

The recoil of the G22 was incredibly more manageable, compared to the Gen 3 Glock 22. But what was different was the fact that I could get back onto target much faster with the Gen 4. I would mainly contribute this to the new recoil buffer spring that is the new Gen 4. I could deffently tell a diffence and truthfully, it was very comparable to my G19.

The sights on the G22 were factory night sights, 3 dot configuration. They were much easir to pick up and aling than the crapy stock sights I have on my G19. Thus this allowed me to gain a clear and more precise sight alinghment and picture.

Last but not least, the frame has improved greatly. It now allows for custimization of the back straps, which imrpoves the shooters ability to chose how the frame will rest in hand. Another improvement, to me, was the fact that the frame is now textured with bumps. This gives a great feel in hand, and I can only imagine of the benefits of using this during harsh weather. On the down side this could be a problem when CCW ( could cause damage to clothes or skin. The mag release button has also seen a vast improvement as well. As on the Gen 3 Glock, many users had trouble actuating the mag release without tilting the gun off target. Now due to the over sized mag release, I can now stay on target, and with my shooting thumb eject the magazine. This is a major improvement that I believe shouldn't be taken lightly.

Well I had a blast shooting this wonderful pistol. I would highly recommend trying a Gen 4 Glock out. If all else fails, the Gen 3 Glocks are ROCK as well.
