Sadly the Pirates shot all 4 hostages

Why were they sailing in those waters to start with, let alone unarmed....There are many less dangerous places to hand out Bibles.

That is just a terrible turn of events. My guess as to why they were unarmed would be because:
1) I'm pretty sure it is illegal to travel armed through international waters.
2) Even if it was legal, they probably felt like if anyone saw they were armed it would hinder their missionary efforts.
