I am looking or a carry/all around well shooting pistol. I can't decide between springfields loaded or their range officer. Need help deciding.:uhoh:

if you don't like the adjustable sights, get the Loaded.

I had the same delimma. I went to the shop and was able to look at both side by side. Range officer has a better fit and closer tolerances. I decided on the loaded because of the trijicon night sites that come with it and it's tolerances aren't as tight so I won't have to worry about dirt and grime as much.

I can go either way.....It doesn't really bother me.

Go with the RO then. It's cheaper! Use the savings on more ammo

There is really no difference between them right?

I sold a Loaded made in late '10 to fund a RO that will be here from Bud's next week.
I never got over the "Made in Brazil" stamp (I know they are ALL born in Brazil by Imbel) that my SS Loaded had, the front serrations and ambi safety are also things that rubbed me the wrong way......literally. The serrations are sharp and the ambi safety wasn't needed.
Now, the RO came out about a month after I bought my Loaded. If I would have known about the RO, I would have waited.
Also, the RO has a 1 piece barrel compared to the two piece of the Loaded........some say it doesn't matter, but it does for me.
The RO is assembled in Geneso, IL - not Brazil, if that matters.

Now, I will change out those monster, Bo-Mar like sights and go with a Harrison fixed tritium set.....just my taste. http://shop.harrisoncustom.com/products/93-hd-002-t2-extreme-service-rear-sight.aspx

I already told my FFL to get the trigger to 3.5# and break like glass, I will get front strap checkering in the future, change out some MIM parts and maybe even have it given a nice Royal Blue (like) finish. Who knows.......

Oh, and if my Loaded was "hand fitted" as SA states, then the 'smith that did the fitting was blind and one armed. They took it back and actually apologized for the frame to slide fit........and fixed it of course.
