1911 vs Taurus 92 vs .357

I know some of you guys hate these threads, but would really appreciate some guidence on this. I should have my handgun permit within the next couple of weeks or so and for the life of me can't decide what to go with. I'm torn between a 1911 (most likely a RIA), Taurus 92 or a .357 (S&W 19, GP 100 or Taurus Tracker). I won't be carrying it since my county does not allow CCW, so this will be strictly for the range and HD. The 3 guns I've listed are the ones I've had a man-crush on for as long as I can remember. So, I look to my fellow HighRoaders to help me make my decision.
Lets hear it!!
Thanks
Adam

9mm is cheapest, then 45 then 357. People swear by taurus 92's and RIA 1911s. Smith 19s are quite possibly the best designed 357 ever. First decide revolver or semi. If you pick semi then decide which you like holding better.

First, you should get the one YOU want.
Me, I'd go for the Model 19 first, GP100 next (close second), Taurus 92 third, RIA fourth, and tracker 5th. YMMV

I don't like the Beretta 92, so the Taurus wouldn't be an improvement. Trigger reach is way too long. Besides, I hate double-action autos.
I like .357 revolvers. I have several of them, all of them pre-lock S&Ws.
I have four M1911s. It's possible that my next handgun will be an RIA .38 Super.
If it were me, I'd get the RIA M1911.

GTO vs Powerdrill vs Can Opener. All over the place. Just get all three.

The mod 19 is one of the best handguns you'll ever own.

I'll eventually get all 3, just thought I would get some opinions. And as I suspected, A different response from anyone. I think it willl depend on what I'm feeling the day I'm ready to buy.

Then get the nine first. That way you can shoot twice as much while you wait to get the others.

CDNN has a S&W 5906 used for $299.99 in 9mm looks good on page 20 of their catalog.

Second this, the GP100 is a very good handgun, I had 3 357 Mags, 2 S&W model 66's, and the GP100.. Kept the Ruger and sold the other 2...

How much experience do you have with these weapons? My advice is to go to the range and shoot all three several times if needed.
That will probably answer your question.
I can tell you from experience that there is no bigger disappointment than buying a gun to determine that it's not for you.
For me they are revolvers. I try to like them, love the way they look and owned several of them. Only to sell them for a loss because they just weren't me.

That's the beauty of the Taurus variety. You can carry it cocked and locked with a shorter trigger pull.

If you plan on shooting a lot you may want a 9mm because it will be cheaper to shoot. I have a taurus 92 and 99. They are solid guns and the ones I have are very accurate. I rarely ever shoot them because I don't like da/sa autos. I prefer the glock trigger.
