AWB & LEO Magazines

I have had an interesting question rolling around my head for the last couple of days. With the current law only LEO are allowed to have standard capactity magazines. What is the LEO requirement? Could one work part time for the local PD as a mail clerk and be considered to meet the requirement for Law Enforcement Only magazines since you would be working for a law enforcement agency? What is the cut-off for the current?

You have to be a sworn officer working for a law enforcement agency. Part-time and auxiliary is Ok, as long as you have a badge and a gun.

Gotcha. I wasn't planning on being a mail clerk or anything it was just something rolling around in my head.
Thanks for the quick response.

If/when the awb sunsets, do all these mags inscribed with the mystical rune " LEO USE ONLY " suddenly become safe for the peasants to own?

After the AWB finds its place in the dustbin of history, I'm sure there will be urban legends on how the things will still get you locked up, most likely to be heard at the range. Interestingly, if they ever try to re-enact the ban after the sunset, they'll have to think of something else to print on the mags -- maybe "RESTRICTED LEO/MILITARY USE ONLY WE REALLY MEAN IT THIS TIME"? :D
