I've heard that these are pretty ok guns and reliable when fed ball ammo. I've also heard that these are made by bersa it seems likely because firestorms .22 pistol looks alot like the bersa thunderer. I read an article in one the gun rags a while back and it seemed to give it a decent rating. I may use it as a car gun or range gun at best. Thanks for any help guys.

Most Bersa/Firestorm guns are identical and are quite good...the 1911 Llama's are good question at best. The 1911's are the cheapest on the market and the general concencus is to stay away from them and get at least a Rock Island/Charles Daly.

The SA 1911 "style" Firestorm is made by Llama .

Bersa makes the DA Firestorms .22 , .380 , .9mm , .40 , .45 .

We sold approximately 75 combined Llama/Firestorm SA .45's last year . They are popular with our customers and with me because we have very few service problems .

If comments on The Firing Line are any indication, Firestorm seems to have some quality control problems: many shooters have the gun and have had no problems; others have the gun and hate them.

Gun Tests Magazine did a test of some low-cost 1911s last year (or the year before) and one of the Firestorms failed out of the box.

You can find a good one; the question is, will the search be worth the effort?
