Tell me what you think about the TacSol aluminum .22 Cascade

Not the all Ti version. I figure that one's the bomb.
Not the MonoCore version either. I figure that one's about as sweet.

I'm talking about the original Cascade, the all aluminum with the single Ti baffle.

The reason I'm asking is that I see these cans sell down towards the $100 mark, brand new. For that price I can't sit by and not get one. I'd just like to hear some reviews first, if anyone cares to share.

What are the pros/cons about this model? :scrutiny:

For that price, why shouldn't I?

Or is this can the 'Hi-Point of silencers'? :D

Okay, cat's got your tongue keyboard.

SilencerTalk has about the same input.

How about this then... If you could get one of these for $125 delivered, would you?

YES or NO

How about $135? $145? $155? $165?

$125? Yes. $150+? Nope. Between $125 and $150, I'd have to think quite hard on that, as a slight increase in price could bring a bunch of different options into the fold.

buy the TI its worth every penny. Ive sold multi Cascades and everyone is happy with them but for the price the TI is hard to beat.

I agree. Even though it is a little heavier, I like the durability of Ti. There's no reason that I can't own both though. The thing is, when you can get a Ti Cascade at, what... $250-$300, that's a good deal. But when you can get the original Cascade at half that? That's a steal!

I was just looking for some direct experiences. I only found a tiny bit at SilencerTalk and that's it.

Put it this way, how many cans are out there that you can buy for less than $150 brand new? Move that price up by $15-$25 and what are the options? I don't know of many at all. If the core isn't all Ti or steel, at least make the first baffle in something other than alumn. At this price, I can't see much of a downside or comparable alternative... but I only have a limited knowledge, given the sheer numbers of suppressor manufacturers that are popping up almost every week these days.

I realize money spent is money spent, but...

I look at suppressors as something you're going to own forever. With the tax stamp at $200, there's just not much of a resale market. You're going to be "stuck" with your purchase "forever". Amortize the cost difference of various cans over the rest of your life and it seems to me you should just buy the best you can afford at the time.

There's $0.02 to go toward the purchase of a better can :p.

Only muzzle attachable 22 cans worth buying right now in this market are in no order....

1. Silencerco SS sparrow
2. AAC Element
3. Liberty Kodiak or Essence
4. SWR Spectre
5. Surefire 22-s

The above are all "dip-able" in vinegar/peroxide to eat the lead off the baffles and more importantly VERY VERY quiet.

I'd add the Innovative Arms Apex to that list. Standard model has an aluminum monocore, but you don't have to worry about the dip since you can take it apart. They make the same thing in stainless if you really want to use the dip. The dip works well but I don't use it since you have a pretty hazardous substance as the byproduct. I'd rather just hit the core with a toothbrush and some powder solvent.

I have the original sparrow....and it blows. The aluminum is hard to clean. Its a quiet can and comes apart easy but the alum monocore stinks. Im only buying stainless from now on. Im looking at the surefire 22-s or the stainless sparrow next.

For 22 cans I have the original Silencerco Sparrow, AWC Archangel Ti, and TM WASP.

I've got an old school aluminum k-baffle .22 can. I don't clean it other than to run a bore brush through it occasionally. Even shooting Wolf MT through it, it really just doesn't need to be cleaned.

I just wanted to add another can to your list of good products. IA will make you one out of whatever you want - aluminum, stainless, or all inconel. The price varies according to the material obviously.
