I have a xdsc9 and love it, but have been recently have been looking to buy an m&p 9c to add to the collection. Only problem is that i cant find that gun for less than 540.00 after tax/shipping/or transfers, and i can always find an xdsc for around 450. I have a chance to do an even trade, whats the THR professional opinion?

The HS2000 was a cheap gun until Springfield re-branded the pistol the XD under a distribution contract. I personally think that the M&P should cost more, for the fact that it is made right here in the good ol' USA, (not an Eastern Bloc country) and does not utilize any stamped parts.

Here are some links to M&P9c's at a decent price:

They are very similar guns. The M&P9c is slightly larger in all dimensions, but only slightly. They shoot very similarly. I don't think the quality is significantly different between them. Trade if you think you might prefer the M&P.

I own both and shoot both frequently. IMHO there is very little difference between them - both are quite good! However, when I carry concealed my choice is always the XD........purely personal preference!
