That is some rough engraving and the engraved portrait was pretty bad, LOL

Nothing screams "Quality Custom Firearm" quite as loudly as 'Pot and Poppies' hand engraved on genuine ivory grips.:what:

It just makes the drug overlord inside me quiver all over.:barf:

That is some of the worst engraving I've ever seen. Not even talking about the subject, just the quality.

Talk about ruining a great gun.

That's a very competitive price for a first attempt at engraving by a blind & stoned man...

I think.

Why would you want a $18k Colt when for only $25k you can have this Saiga 12

If only guns could talk.

That 1911'd either have a very interesting story to tell, or would just sit in the corner and howl . . .

Well it does state "fully hand engraved with hammer & chisel only". I guess that's truth in advertising at its best!

I just threw up a little after opening that link.

Hecho en Mexico, I'm sure. Frankly, I doubt that's a $1,250 gun; I also don't doubt someone will talk himself into paying several times that for it.

I got my dremal tool in hand and will have a custom NEF 20ga for sale shortly. I thinking $15,000 will be fair.

Those grips are a horrible waste of ivory.

I'm pretty sure you could tie a Colt to a rope and drag it on a gravel road behind a pickup for a few miles and it would look nicer than that thing. :barf:

And if guns could talk, this one would only cry. It would definately devise some plan to use itself......... to kill itself. Hmmmm..... a difficult shot to be sure.

I got these grips from Castelan Designs quite awhile ago. Solid silver. They look great. I was not a fan of their engraving work, but to each their own, I suppose.

I've since swapped them out with a simple Hogue rubber wraparound, though.

I prefer to have naked ladies engraved on my ivory grips. Just seems classier to me than pot leaves, but to each his own.

On that Saiga? Apparently we're not supposed to bid until he posts pictures, and apparently the starting bid is so high in order to prevent bids???? Who the heck does that? And why not just post pics - the gun's been posted for three days...

I do believe that most anyone interested in purchasing a pistol decorated like that one is barred from it's ownership per NICS FTR Form-4473, Section 11, Part E; which states: "Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?" Parts C & D are also likely candidates...part F is up for debate too. ;)

Haha, I was wondering the same thing, pot leaves and opium poppies.
Not my thing, but always interesting to see something I've never seen before.
Must be the difference in cultures i guess.
