On this day, 100 years ago, the 1911 was adopted into service where it served our military up to this day still serving our troops.

Lets commemorate by posting your 1911 here! I don't actually own a 1911 yet :o

My first 1911 was a WW2 era Ithaca slide on a new Auto Ordnance frame (don't ask me why). Never fails to go bang when you pull the trigger though.

My second is a Colt New Agent, it's my primary CCW gun and I love it to death.

I plan on owning at least 2 or 3 or a hundred more 1911s before I die.

Sorry for the crappy quality :)

God bless the soul of John Moses Browning, a great patriot. And the thanks of a grateful nation for his many designs that have protected us for well over a century.

I celebrated by ordering a commemorative Para double stack for my unit's deployment.

I've only got one. I almost never shoot it, but it's a nice gun.

Colt 1991A1 Commander.

I used to have a Government Model Colt, but traded it off.

Kimber Desert Warrior:

Colt CCO:

Of the above, the Wilson Combat CQB is my favorite and has fast become my #1 go to carry gun since getting it back in January (and after running about 1000 flawless rounds), my TRP is only second by a hair in that I have had it for four years and have run many thousands of rounds through it with no malfunctions except for worn out mags not dropping free. The Operator is pretty new, but is a good solid gun, the CCO is reliable, but it has some sharp edges on it so it's mostly a range gun, the Desert Warrior has given me fits when it comes to feeding JHP ammo and the EMP is my go to in the summer when I need something small and light.
