OK folks, my friend and I just got a WASR-10 brand neew, fires great, low recoil, no trigger slap, LOVE IT. The rifle has the dragunov-ish stock and I was wondering if this qualified as a thumbhole stock or a pistol grip stock. MY real question is whether I can weld a flash suppressor on.......?

In the eyes of the ATF these days, a thumbhole stock IS a pistol grip stock. Sorry, but no you cannot add a flash supressor.

I think I'd rather look into adding the correct number of US made parts to legally ditch that stock and put a real set of AK furniture on it.

Congrats on the purchase, and the good luck with the quality.

The Hi-Cap WASR-10 with "std" AK stock is going for $340 around here.
