I'm considering a new Sig 225. (I want the single stack magazines, and 9mm.)
I can get the P225 made in Germany, or the P225 Polezi made in Germany for the same price. The Police Pistol has 3 magazines and night sights. The standard 225 has two magazines and night sights.
What is the difference? Both say "made in Germany" Both are DA/SA (I think)
Other than markings, is there a difference?

I believe the differences are only cosmetic. A more definitive answer can be found at http://sigforum.com/eve/forums

thezoltar is 100% correct. Same guns made in about the same time period. The only difference is the rollmarks.
Get the nights and the extra mags they are expensive. $39 + when you can find them.
Great guns I love mine.

You might also want to check out the P6. You might be able to find those for a lot cheaper.

It might be worth is but if you are using it as a defensive weapon you need to make sure you get a gun with the improved feed ramp.

The one of the left is the one you want. IIRC a date code of 89 or later gets you the improved ramp.

Ditto rellascout!...
Have several older P6s (79, 80, 81) a Montage Suisse and a couple P225s... with the 'newest' run of 225s having the 'best' feed ramp.
Some of the older P6/225s will sometimes have a problem with 'hotter-loads' and some HP Hollow-Points...
Rella's ramp on the LEFT is the newest and way to go if the dollars aren't a big difference.
The P225 is one of SIG's Classics and definitely a long-term keeper... get the best one you can afford... a GREAT GUN!

So what's up with those short triggers in those P225s ... factory or your choice?
I prefer the original trigger ... but as you say, great 9mm Luger pistols for sure. Here are mine. One I bought new in '95, the other I bought NIB (unfired) last year but it was made before my first one.

Some P225s are DAO and some are DA/SA.

Couple of my older P6s were German Police trade-ins and came with the short-trigger. Personally, I have big hands and the short-trigger actually 'bites' my finger. Been meaning to swap 'em out (for a standard trigger, which I love) but haven't got around to it. Just personal preference... feel and looks.

Thanks, that is good.
Now, both versions say "Exeter, NH", one one side and "Made In Germany" on the other.
TGS has both at the same price (the Polezi version used to be $20 more. Now they both went up and are the same.)

Sigarms what Sig Sauer used to be known as is headquartered in Exeter, NH which is also where their import lic is registered and where they manufacture pistols currently. In order to bring these pistols into the country from Germany this was required. It does not mean the gun was made in NH.
Both of the P225s you are looking at where made in Germany.
