I have a set of Pachmayr Grippers on a J Frame. The grips have a strong rubber odor. Will the rubber smell ever go away?

Eventually yes. To speed up the process, remove the grips, grab and toothbrush and give 'em an all-over scrub with:
4 parts warm water
4 parts ammonia
2 parts white vinegar
1 part baking soda

Then completely rinse and let them sit in the sun on the dashboard of your vehicle to dry for several hours.

The Pachmyr grips with which I'm familiar are made stateside. But I do get over to Georgia every so often and believe I may have experienced what you're referring to -- in such cases, all that's needed is soap and water. :D

Just messin' with you. Georgia is the birthplace of my firstborn... and he lives in China now.
