I've narrowed down my choice to these two based on reading the boards, but I wont be able to try either one first. Which one would you choose and why?

I have a PC 629 4" V-comp (pre Clinton lock) that I bought in 2000. Very smooth action, trigger, everything. A really sweet looking and shooting gun. Out of all of the gun shows and gun stores I've ever been to, I've never seen in person another 4" v-comp. I don't think that there are a lot of them out there, don't know why. Everyone that pulls the trigger can't believe how clean it breaks. However, I'm not sure if the newer PC guns are of the same quality.

I have the 5 inch classic, great gun.
Nice and handy especially in the holster I have, Alaska Guides Choice by Diamond D Holsters.

Not a lot of voting or commenting going on. I'll add that the 4" v-comp does balance nice. When I bought it I was looking for a 4" 29-2. Instead, I fell in love with this. Would I do the same deal today? Most likely. I'd only sell my v-comp for a price that is way over market price because I'd need to feed my habit and buy a couple other sweet older Smiths that make me drool. I don't shoot it alot, but I took 2nd place in our gun club during our 50ft. indoor competition where we shoot three 10 shot groups each week for 10 weeks. The next year I took 2nd with a 6 1/2" nickle 29-2 I bought NIB. They guys that beats me every year shoot either a 6 1/2" blue 29-2 or his model 1945 45acp. He's taken first every year for the past 9 years.
