My day so far...

So I've been visiting the family in Northern Virginia the past week for spring break, and among other things (like getting glasses ) We took a trip to DC, since its just a Metro ride away.

We went to Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and watch them literally PRINT MONEY.
No pictures though, or free samples!

After that, we went to the National Archives, and looked at all the old documents.

There was the Declaration, Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

I read this on the Original Document:

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Reading it there in the original ink (which was very hard to read, very faded) was very powerful. Shall not be infringed, and SHALL is a very restrictive word. Makes me think some states (and the feds) like to ignore that shall, and replace it with a MAY or something of the sort.

Also, there were no pictures allowed either, and armed guards (with revolvers of all things...) so no chances were taken :D

Just thought I'd let you all know what I did today!

I wish they actually taught the truth about the 2nd Amendment in the schools ..... That the original intent was to have the government in fear of the citizenry.

I wish that more of the legislators understood it as well.

I continue to hope. Never give up.
